It took me a while to get into the book. Now I'm kind of into it because it just now got to the ship sinking. I'm looking forward to what happens to Pi and the animal with him.
I thought that the book was kind of boring at the beginning. I am starting to really like it now. I am looking forward to see what Pi is going to do to gt rid of Richard Parker, or if he will just keep going to the raft and keep his distance.
I find not only Pi's interest in a multitude of religions, but his faith and ability to stick to all three very inspiring. Hinduism has also been an interest of mine and through this book I learned even more about it. I have read about the god Ganesha and am already familiarized with this joyful, feared god. That knowledge was handy when reading the book in that I didn't need to do any further analyzation to understand the story. Pi's faith to Hinduism, Muslim, and Christianity is inspiring because if he can live to all three, no questioning God or gods, I can surely live up to my one faith.
I thought it was really hard to connect with Pi in the beginning. At a young age he is more interested in religion then in play. He is already focusing his whole life around his prayer. Not only that, he speaks as if he was much older than he is.
