My comments/observations on how the book is written are that the book is written in journal form, as if the author was writing it as the events were occurring. The author uses a lot of detail to explain his life story.
My comments/observations on how the book is written are that the narator talks about the book as if it happened along time ago. He seems much more mature than a 7 year old is. This allows a lot more detail since a 7 year old's descriptions would be a lot less colorful.
My comments/observations on how the book is written are that so far the book seems like kind of a flashback. It seems as if the narrator is just telling a story of his, that happened a lot earlier in his lifetime.
I have noticed the book seems to be a life long, event by event story of the "Life of Pi". Yann Martel, the author, makes himself Pi Patel and, as Pi, he tells his life story. Occasionally Pi rambles about sloths, throws in quick stories (such as when he walked up to the board and wrote his name in each class to make sure he would have a better experience in school and become known as "Pi" rather than "pissing Patel" or other harsh names bullies had given him), or goes into great detail about things such as the zoo.
